#048 NORTHERN LIGHTS

This is a Terrye French sketch through Painting With Friends that I painted and made into a pattern through Painting With Friends. I saw this as being a quintessential New England WInter scene complete with Christmas light lit house, snowman sled with tree in the door yard as well as candy canes marking the front entrance to the home and of course, had to have some sheep there too! The addition of the northern lights swirl in the sky was a touch of Terrye French genius!

CHRISTMAS GINGER COFFEE POT E-PATTERN

I found this old metal coffee pot and immediately thought this needs to be painted with gingerbread men and candy canes!  So merry and bright!  This is my original design and is a quick and easy project.  I like to think this will become a cherished piece handed down through the years.  I found the coffee pot ata  yard sale and have seen plenty out and about at junk shops, thrift shops and recycle shops.  I have included a recipe for the cinnamon appleauce ornaments that I attached to the top.  I had fun painting this and hope you do too!  Please note...once painted, the coffee pot is for decorative purposes only.

#049 GINGER ANGEL

Christmas season is rapidly approaching and my mind went to all kinds of things...angels...gingerbread men, Merry Christmas...and this is what I came up with.  She is a sweet ginger-haired angel who just so happens to have a cute little gingerbread man in her pocket and is holding a Merry Christmas banner!  Problem solved!

I hope she is just what you were looking for.

#050 GOOSE GIRLS

Spring has to be right around the corner, at least I hope so.  I designed this last winter and in the interim also made a video and figured I should release the e-pattern if nothing else than to scare the cold weather away.  What could be more peaceful than a trio of country girls walking their trio of geese to market?  Well, not ready to leave well enough alone, I had to add some frolicking sheep in the background.  It was a fun piece to design and to paint and I am hoping you have some fun with it also.  Would be so cute in a little girl's room or a "powder room" or anyplace you choose to place it.

This pattern and a video were released back in 2015 or 2016 (not sure).

#051 FORGET ME NOTS AND SUNFLOWERS

Memories of spring and summer are always full of forget-me-nots and sunflowers.  I found a cute little paper mache suitcase that fit the design I had in mind and I even added a sunflower inside the suitcase for whimsy.  Everywhere I have had a garden I have had sunflowers and naturally this little red-headed gardener has her sunflower patch as well.

The forget-me-nots are a wonderful memory I have of my sweet sister-in-love, Maureen.  I sent her a bunch of seeds when I was living in Maine and she returned the favor and sent me some of her seeds from Washington State to me in Minnesota.  I love an area carpeted with the lovely blue blossoms they produce.  These will be first seeds I sow this spring.

This was a fun piece to design and paint.  Of course, it can be painted on any surface you choose in case you cannot find a paper mache suitcase.

#052 IN THE MEADOW

I wanted to design a piece that would be good to display all winter long with snowmen, icicles, and snowflakes. I painted a trio of snowmen rather than overwhelming the teapot as I wanted the snowflakes to be an important part of the design as well. It was fun to design and even more fun to paint. Lots of little details (I love details!). I hope you have fun painting this!  This design will fit on many different sizes of tea pots as the snowmen figures can be easily moved.

#053 SNOW ANGEL

Oh...now I know what makes it snow, snow angels! My Snow Angel works the night shift and flies over the countryside and forests waving her magic wand leaving snow behind. I painted this angel on an old kettle I found in an upscale junk yard and grabbed it. She could be painted on so many other surfaces.

This was such a fun piece to design and paint!

TEST DRIVE

#054 TEST DRIVE

Even witches need to test drive their brooms. That was my thought when I designed this piece. This was a very bright piece to design - lots of greens, oranges, bright blues and purples. The piece was initially based with Burnt Orange and then I dry brushed areas of green, purple, rusty colors and bright blue. There is lots of very fine line work. The witches themselves are dressed in bright colors as well and have all kinds of different hairstyles too!. I would happily place this on my front door all alone or in the center of a wreath. Great gift for a Halloween-loving special person we all know. Happy Haunting and wishes for a "smooth ride"!

#056 HOPPING DOWN THE BUNNY TRAIL

It is nice to know that winter will eventually be gone and that spring is coming! Of course an important part of spring is Easter and I love all things Easter – bunnies, chicks, Easter eggs, flowers, and all the glorious colors of the season. I did choose to add some eyelet lace to the piece but you should decorate it the way you would like – fill it with jelly beans, pastel M&Ms or nothing at all! Most of all, I hope you have a great time painting this!

FRUITS OF SUMMER

#057 FRUITS OF SUMMER

Ahhh…the fruits of summer! Although all these fruits are available year round, there is just something refreshing about watermelon on a hot day! What better welcome could there be than strawberries, juicy grapes, fresh sliced peaches, and my favorite, fresh picked wild Maine blueberries! I tried to capture all these fruits at their peak of summer ripeness.

GHOST, PUMPKIN AND WITCH, OH MY!

One of my original designs, painted on plywood.  I have combined three traditional Halloween features all in one piece.  There is the ghost on top with bold green/yellow/red eyes being supported by a smiling jack-o-lantern who is in the hand of a big green witch with red nail polish...what more could you ask for?  Attached to the jute cord for hanging is an antiqued paper tag with "HAPPY HAUNTING".  There are so many places this could be hung - front door, back door, living room, family room, foyer - you are only limited by your imagination!

Measurement:  12 1/2 inches long (not counting the jute) and 7 inches wide.

The price for this piece is $26.00 and shipping is included (Priority Mail) to U.S.A. only.

This piece can also be purchased as a painting pattern on this website as well.

#059 NEW ENGLAND COASTAL VILLAGE SHELF

I lived in New England (Downeast Maine and Cape Cod) for over 24 years and fell in love with everything about the area – the architecture, the people, the scenery, the food, etc.  I found this piece of wood and just started designing.  I actually named the lobster shop after a wonderful lobsterman/friend!  The piece itself is a peg rack which actually adds to its usefulness and value.

A wonderful friend, talented artist and wood work genius, Sheila Bergner-Landry, can provide the surface for this piece

Measurements:  Height (from tip of mast to bottom of peg section is 20 1/2” tall and 16” wide (approximate measurements).

This pattern was published in Pixelated Palette in June 2016.

HOW TO BUILD A WITCH SHOE

#060 HOW TO BUILD A WITCH SHOE

I have been painting witch shoes for a few years.  All of my unpainted surfaces (future witch shoes) have been found at thrift stores.  I look for black short boots and higher topped shoes and have even painted on funky clunky black shoes.  It would not be prudent to design for any one style of shoe.  So…what I have come up with is a series of designs (components) that can be used to paint any shoe and the colors I have used.  The nice thing about buying used shoes is that you can paint one to sell and one to keep or keep both…. These are great accent pieces and fun to paint.  Feel free to add any other details – customize to your taste for sure.  The components can be enlarged or minimized to fit your shoe.

This pattern was published in Pixelated Palette in August of 2016.

#061 AURORA BOREALIS CAKE COVER

I love metal cake covers, don't know why, but I just do.  I love the fact that they can double as a cover for the cake as well as a seasonal or year-round decoration.

The Aurora Borealis Cake Cover was an idea I came up with that would be more than a suitable decoration for both the entire Winter Season as well as the Holidays.  The cake cover has a lovely combination of reindeer, snow-filled night sky, a concentric aurora borealis on the top, glittery snowflakes and snow-covered evergreen trees all topped with a snow-dipped pinecone with glitter for the handle.

This was just such a fun and festive cake cover to design and paint and I hope it gives you joy to paint it!

This is one of my original designs and was published in the Pixelated Palette in November 2017..

#062 MASONS JARS FOR THE SEASONS

I have long been drawn to cobalt blue glassware.  I had some wooden Mason jar ornament cut outs and put the two ideas together and came up with a cobalt blue Mason jar for each of the four seasons.  This was a fun project and hopefully you will enjoy it too!

This is my original design.  This piece was published in Painting E-Zine in January of 2018.
