This piece can be placed on any surface of your choice. I painted mine on an old board that was lying around in my studio. Someone had suggested this would make a great canvas floor cloth, perhaps used as a welcome sign with the "Welcome" under the bunny. The check border would be optional. It will be yours to do with as you so choose. This is an original design, actually one of my favorites so far. I hope you enjoy painting it as much as I enjoyed designing it!

This winter has been difficult for many areas and my mind kept going to memories of summer days filled with fun, watermelon and sunflowers. The black cat was added just because he was so cute! Just painting this made me feel warmer. I can't guarantee that it will make you feel warmer but it just might put a smile on your face.

This is an original design of what I would picture as a sampling of some primitive designs. Done in pleasing country colors that would coordinate and compliment many different styles. I like to think of my style as a mix of primitive, folk art, and decorative/tole painting. I love doing detail work and can't seem to stop putting in a few little extra touches. It is a detailed piece but not necessarily a difficult piece to paint.  I hope this is something that you would like to paint!

Memories of spring and summer are always full of forget-me-nots and sunflowers.  I found a cute little paper mache suitcase that fit the design I had in mind and I even added a sunflower inside the suitcase for whimsy.  Everywhere I have had a garden I have had sunflowers and naturally this little red-headed gardener has her sunflower patch as well. 

The forget-me-nots are a wonderful memory I have of my sweet sister-in-love, Maureen.  I sent her a bunch of seeds when I was living in Maine and she returned the favor and sent me some of her seeds from Washington State to me in Minnesota.  I love an area carpeted with the lovely blue blossoms they produce.  These will be first seeds I sow this spring.

This was a fun piece to design and paint.  Of course, it can be painted on any surface you choose in case you cannot find a paper mache suitcase.
