COLD PROCESS SOAP

Cold process soapmaking method entails mixing lye water with a fat or oil (such as olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil or soap butters such as mango butter, shea butter, etc.).  These substances are mixed together until the "batter" thicks up and the batter is placed into a mold where it is covered with a towel and the soap goes through a gel phase (it heats up) and then cools down after about 1-2 days and the soap is unmolded, cut and placed on a drying rack and turned frequently to cure.  After about 4-6 weeks of curing, it is ready to be used.

Info provided by my experience and from soap makers such as Edens Garden and The Nova Studio.

#016 LAVENDER EUCALYPTUS COLD PROCESS HAND SOAP

I have been reading a lot about soap makers using a combination of lavender and eucalyptus essential oils to scent cold process soap.  Well, I actually had both oils (and never would have thought about combining them) and poured a drop of each on a cotton ball and sniffed it all day and guess what....it is a very strong scent and very crisp and clean...just what I was looking for!  I chose a swirl using off white, lavender color and a teal color and then dusted the top with a biodegradable glitter on the top.

The ingredients used were olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sodium hydroxide, and distilled water.  As mentioned above, i scented the soap with a mix of lavender essential oil and eucalyptus essential oil. The mica colorants were lavender, off white and teal and then added a purple biodegradable glitter on top of the soap loaf.  When the soap is set aside, under a "blanket" to "go through gel phase" in which it heats up and then saponifies and voila...in the morning it is cooled and ready to be cut!  When I cut the soap bars, I am like a kid on Christmas morning looking at all the bars - very exciting for me!

Average weight for each soap bar is 4.5 ounces.

Shipping charges are per soap bar.

#018 COPPER MINE COLD PROCESS HAND SOAP

I just received a new mica colorant, called Ectoplasm, and I just love it and could not wait to make some soap with it.  It is a rich turquoise/aqua blue.  I did not want to do just a plain soap bar but I thought a jagged pencil line near the midline would look great.  To me it would be like a finding a vein of copper or gold.  The sparkly copper mica I have was my first choice.   The pencil line looks dark in the photo but it is clearly a shiny copper line! I hope you like my choice!  I left the top of the soap really jagged.

These bars are made with top quality ingredients. The ingredients used were olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sodium hydroxide, distilled water, mica colorants used were Ectoplasm and Copper Sparkle.  The scent i used was Honey Patchouli fragrance oil and these soap bars are made with LOTS OF LOVE!

Average weight of each soap bar is 4.7 ounces.

Shipping charges are per bar of soap.
